General Membership Meeting

The meeting was called to order by President Luke Hawkins at 7:33 pm.
Officers, Area Representatives, and Committee members present include: Luke Hawkins – President, Dave Price – Vice President, Nicole Hebert-Secretary, Area 7, ESOB, Ashley Doherty – Website, Denny Schaeppi – ESOB, Golf, Jim Fitzsimmons – Golf, Lacey Ruffino – Yard Sale, Trent Bradshaw – Departing Treasurer, Drew Feverback – Incoming Treasurer, Tim Glover – Nominating, Jim Grabenbauer – Parks, Chris Nellis – New Social, Alex White

Introductions for new faces
Updates:
Neighborhood Garage Sale – 23 house officially registered and were placed on the map. Thank you to Mike and Tash Tesnar for creating the map. HOHA earned $1,456.97 toward the fireworks display thanks to the wonderful people at Converge Church for hosting a donation sale for those who could not participate in the neighborhood garage sale. We are missing 2 garage sale signs.
Neighborhood Clean-up: great turn-out, was consistently busy. Thanks to all those who volunteered. Special thank you to Boyd and Charlie’s BBQ and the Ruffino family for providing the delicious lunch.
Spring Candy Hunt – 52 Adults and children attended the event. It was a beautiful, top 10 day. It was a great send off to Stacey Jolley who is passing on her position. Kona Ice was a hit. All the thanks to Stacey for her many dedicated years of service chairing this event.
Upcoming Neighborhood Events:
Harvey Oaks Annual Golf Tournament – Sunday, May 18th at Pacific Springs Golf Course, 16810 Harney Street in Omaha, NE – Proceeds from this event will be used to renovate the entrance islands in Harvey
Oaks.
Harvey Oaks Independence Day Parade – Saturday, June 28th – 11:00 am in Harvey Oaks middle park – all kiddos are welcome to dress up and come show your July 4th spirit! Bikes, trikes, big wheels, wagons, and those who walk are all welcome. Kona Ice will be there too!
Harvey Oaks Independence Day Fireworks Saturday, June 28th at dusk – 151st to 152nd shut down for food trucks starting at 6pm. Half of Harvey Oaks Drive/Shirley Street will also be blocked off to prevent parking on both sides of the street for emergencies. Food Trucks include: Burning Bridges, La Gaviota Mexican, Pretzels-on-the-Go, Carousels Ice Cream, and Kona Ice.

- HOHA needs volunteers for the following positions.
Citizens Patrol Chairperson
Welcome
Area 10 Rep
Committee members for the various activities (End of Summer Bash, Parks, Holiday Party/festivities).
Advertising – 4 renewals for newsletter
Ballfields/Parks – Jim Grabenbauer
- Jim Fitzsimmons has done a fabulous job with upkeep at the ballfield – both dragging and mowing.
- Need a week treatment
- Calcite clay or agriline still need to be added
- Omaha Parks started cutting down tree struck by lightning
- Lights will go off on the tennis courts at 9pm – they will not be able to be turned back on
- Idea to plant tree in honor of Barnes daughter by the Harvey Oaks Girl Scouts
Golf Tournament – Denny Schaeppi and Jim Fitzsimmons – date May 18th – Harvey Oaks Golf Classic – 8:00 am
- All holes have sponsors and raffle prizes are ready.
- 68 people signed up – capping at 76
- Dawn Grimshaw Corporate Sponsor and Observatory Beverage Cart
- Pacific Sprints to run games and give 70% back to HOHA
- Pulled pork lunch and a ½ barrel of beer.
- Tracey Selby, Ashley Doherty, and Lacey Ruffino will assist with check-in and raffles.
Fireworks:
- Harvey Oaks Girls Scouts and Converge Church volunteers will help with the clean-up.
- As membership is down, this is putting strain on the fireworks budget. Currently, have $6500 for a show that costs between $10-12,000.
- Dawn Grimshaw is the corporate sponsor.

- Working on June/July Newsletter – please let me know if you want anything submitted.
ESOB – Nicole Hebert
- Planning has begun – Next meeting is May 22nd 7:30 p.m. at the home of Carol Feelhaver, 1867 So. 147 Circle.
Webpage – Ashley Doherty
- needing to do updates to website – going to be less website and more membership geared
Treasurer’s Report-Trent Bradshaw/Drew Feverbach
- nothing to report other than behind on dues this year
- not much going out – need more memberships coming in
- Screen Co opportunity for pre-sale shirt/sweat shirts for Harvey Oaks neighborhood – these would have a logo on the front, back, or both.
Vice President – Dave Price
- Continuing talks with Converge Church partnering
- Harvey Oaks PTO partnership
