General Membership Meeting

The meeting was called to order by Vice President Dave Price at 7:33 pm.
Officers, Area Representatives, and Committee members present include: John Brehmer-Guidelines, Neighborhood Clean-up, Area 17, Nicole Hebert-Secretary, Area 7, ESOB, Dave Price-Vice-President, Warren Curry – Newsletter, Social Media, Area 9, Lacey Ruffino -Yard Sale, Holiday Festivities, Jim Small – Advertising, Denny Schaeppi – ESOB, Traci Selby – Membership

- Volunteer Appreciation Thurs. Dec. 5th at the Observatory from 6-9pm.
- Huge thank you to all involved in getting the Christmas lights up on the island. Look amazing!
- Idea of having an Area Reps meeting to pull the team together.
Upcoming Neighborhood Events:
Harvey Oaks Turkey Bowl 2024 – Thanksgiving Day – Thurs. Nov. 28th from 3-5pm. – Set up by Mike and Carrie Tesnar – Harvey Oaks Neighborhood North Park by tennis courts – Everyone is invited – All ages yes young and old are welcome…bring your cousins friends grandpas and your mascots.
Harvey Oaks Girl Scouts Troop #48017 Holiday Food Drive – Saturday, Nov. 22nd – Friday, Dec. 13th collecting no perishable food items to donate to local food bank – Drop-off donations on the side of the driveway at 14561 Harvey Oaks Ave – Thank you for helping spread warmth and nourishment to those in need this season.
Family Holiday Party – Sunday, December 8th from 2-4pm at Converge Church
HOHA Volunteer Appreciation Night – Thurs., December 5th from 6-9pm – Observatory

- Volunteers needed
- Games, hot chocolate, cookies, and prizes
- Santa and Mrs. Clause will be there
- Working on donations from Family Fare for cookies, water, and hot chocolate
Volunteer Appreciation – Denny Schaeppi
- Thurs. Dec. 5th at the Observatory from 6-9 pm.
- All volunteers no matter the capacity are welcome
- Food include (wings, pizza, snack-type stuff) and 2 drink tickets.
YES Donation Letter – Denny Schaeppi
- Wonderful thank you letter from YES (Youth Emergency Services) for the HOHA donation of $700 from the silent auction at the End of Summer Bash. So very grateful that we could provide such needed assistance.
Golf Tournament – Denny Schaeppi – date May 18th – Harvey Oaks Golf Classis – 8:00 am
- Getting ready to fire up the committee and start planning
- Working on donations for pin prizes

- 91 homes have paid dues for 2025 – 11.64% of households
- Still have quite a few area reps to reach out too.
Social Media – Warren Curry
- Working on lots of ideas on engagement for the neighborhood
- HOHA volunteers – please like and share to broadcast to everyone
Newsletter-Warren Curry
- Working on newsletter
Advertising– Jim Small
- 3 renewals in October
- Working on getting more advertising
Neighborhood Cleanup – John Brehmer
- Rock pile is going down – every weekend until the snow flies and pile is gone – got a great system going now.
- Neighbors, please be cognizant of parking in front of other people’s homes and blocking mailboxes or driveways.
Parks– Tom Helm
- Lights are up – took 2 weekends to complete but only a few hours on Sunday each time – went up very quickly
- When it rains, the lights will be off to dry out
- Leaves were bagged up from the islands to help clean up the entrances
- Idea to do lights to the right and left of the entrance at 144th and Harvey Oaks Ave
ESOB – Nicole Hebert
- Planning starts in March
- Several parents at the school reports a rash after the foam party – talk to vendor about what may have been the cause of the rash as the kids really enjoyed the foam party and would like to continue
Webpage-Ashley Doherty absent – no report
Citizens Patrol Report-No report was given.
Ball Field- Kevin Hughes wasn’t present to give a report.
Treasurer’s Report-Trent Bradshaw not present, no report
Old Business- None
New Business-
- Area 7 resident feedback from membership drive – people are driving too fast and running the stop signs on Harvey Oaks Ave/Shirley St. – For any areas that are seeing people speeding through the neighborhood – especially repeat offenders – contact the Mayor’s Hotline
- Steve Hossack – area 7 resident – talked about some issues with the fireworks – would like to have discussions when planning begins on how it affects the area neighbors.
As there was no other business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 8:45 pm.

Additional meeting dates: There is no December meeting as there will be a Holiday Volunteer Event at Observatory Lounge on December 5th – Observatory Lounge 6-9 pm.
