Dear Neighbors,

I am reaching out to you with an unprecedented ask for help.

The Harvey Oaks Homeowners Association (HOHA) is responsible for several events that we all know and love. The most popular of these is undoubtedly the fireworks show.

We are so lucky and privileged to have a neighbor who has taken it upon themselves for many, many years now to make this happen for us at a very low cost. In fact, even after moving away from the neighborhood, he has continued to put on the show and has personally absorbed several thousands of dollars in expenses each year to keep this neighborhood tradition alive. We could not be more grateful for all that he has done for us – bringing us together and helping us make memories with our families, friends, and neighbors.

Like almost everything these days, expenses are going up, and while our vendor is still willing to do the show for us, we need to cover the actual cost of the show’s supplies this year – an amount of about $7,500. This is still a wildly good deal for HOHA – a show the caliber of ours would normally cost twice that.

But here’s the thing. With dues of only $50 and optional membership, we simply don’t have the funds. So here’s the ask.

We still need to fundraise $5,000 by May 15 to make the show happen this year. If you value this event, would you please consider supporting us with a donation?

I know this is a big ask, but I believe that together, as a community, we can make this year’s fireworks show a reality. Your support, whether through a donation or spreading the word, will make a significant difference.
