New Business:
- Currently, the funds to sponsor the Annual Fireworks Display are approximately $3,000.00 short of the amount necessary for the display to maintain the same high quality as last year. Because of this shortage, an intensive campaign to raise this money will start and continue to the June 25 event. Anyone interested in donating can go to the webpage for instructions.
- It was brought to the attention of the Board that individuals are NOT stopping at stop signs in Harvey Oaks.
- Individuals are not stopping at stop lights turning on to Center and 144 streets as well. The Omaha Police Department will be notified.
- Speeding continues to be a problem in the neighborhood. The speed limit is 25 mph in residential areas.
- All residents needing information on major home improvements should call John Brehmer, Guideline Chairperson, for resources and referrals.
- Currently, a large number of dead trees have been removed from the neighborhood. The City has offered to plant trees in the neighborhood at a cost of $100.00 per tree. Jim Grabenhaur will talk to the City and obtain more information.
- The parking in the neighborhood is always a problem at the Annual Fireworks Display. Parking on 151 and 152 streets is the most problematic. There has to be enough room on these streets for an emergency vehicle to get through. For this reason, parking on one side of these streets will be encouraged. Signs will be posted indicating what side of the street to park.
Announcements:
- Residents are encouraged to sign up and volunteer for the End of Summer Bash/Picnic on August 13. A Sign Up Genius is located on the HOHA website. Without enough volunteers, different events may need to be cancelled.
